Decades of Experience Brings Vistex (formerly, Counterpoint) back to Midem for 50th Anniversary
London, UK (PRWEB) June 02, 2016 -- For over 29 years, more than half the time that Midem itself has been running, the Counterpoint Suite of products has been providing unrivalled software and services to the music industry worldwide. This year, as Midem celebrates its 50th anniversary, the team at Vistex (who acquired Counterpoint in 2014) is eager to continue building on that legacy.
“When Counterpoint was established in 1987, meeting the requirements of music publishers and record labels was the company’s sole aim. Reflecting on those early days, Counterpoint has never looked back.” says Amos Biegun, Global Head of Rights and Royalties for Vistex.
“I joined Counterpoint in 1996. Back then we were servicing all of the major music publishers as well as some major record labels. In the early days, the cost of the hardware was more prohibitive for the independents, but this has changed over the years. Today, we are not only offering our solutions in the cloud but we service the global media and entertainment industries including the Hollywood studios and world’s leading broadcasters. Despite handling all of their film, television and brand licensing needs, we’ve never stopped innovating and serving the music industry” continues Biegun.
“Why have we been so successful over the years? It’s really quite simple – we’ve stayed true to our core strengths and have always put our customers’ requirements first”, added Biegun. “I’ve seen many companies attempt to enter this space, it comes and goes in cycles. Our longevity is a testament to our focus on rights management and royalty accounting. As part of Vistex, our mission has remained the same, whilst our depth and global reach have grown exponentially.” concluded Biegun.
Vistex will be exhibiting at Midem, June 3-6 at Booth #R7.G1 at the Palais de Festivals in Cannes, France.
