Northbound to Reveal How to Build More Authentic Leadership at WCSAD Conference
Newport Beach, Calif. (PRWEB) May 31, 2016 -- Effective leaders not only drive service to the next level, they also build trust among colleagues, clients, and the industry as a whole. On June 2, Northbound CEO Mike Neatherton and COO Paul Alexander will be taking part in the West Coast Symposium on Addictive Disorders (WCSAD) and presenting the opening plenary on “Leadership: The Journey to Authenticity” with Onsite Workshops CEO Miles Adcock and Vice President of Operations Lizzy McGlothlin.
“Paul and I are honored and privileged to open WCSAD with our friends and strategic partners Miles and Lizzy from Onsite. The strategic partnership forged between Northbound and Onsite has strengthened both organizations and is setting the stage for the next generation of industry leaders,” Neatherton said.
The presentation will focus on the role that leaders play in the workforce, and why authenticity, accountability, empowerment, courage, and compassion are vital components of leadership. These skills and qualities take time to build and refine. Today’s leaders work to shape those of the next generation and create a positive impact on relationships with organizations and strategic partners, as well as internal culture.
The panel will discuss how personal growth can lead to a more balanced lifestyle that enables individuals to enhance their leadership abilities and potential. There is an integral connection between vulnerability, trust, honesty, transparency and organizational health. The interplay between these factors affects how other team members view and respond to leaders, and the quality of service provided to clients. Emotional health also plays a driving force in outcomes and the organization’s bottom line. Developing more authentic and effective leadership plays an important role.
“Organizational health remains our number one strategic initiative and is the foundation of everything we do at Northbound,” Alexander said.
To help leaders embark on this journey to authenticity, Neatherton, Alexander, Adcock and McGlothlin will explore common challenges that hold individuals back and steps they can take to overcome these obstacles. In addition, they will delve into how formative experiences influence workplace scenarios, and how self-doubt and fear can keep leaders from making brave choices. Recognizing these barriers and being more proactive in overcoming them can enhance leadership and have a positive impact on the workplace and industry as a whole.
The West Coast Symposium on Addictive Disorders attracts hundreds of participants each year and creates an environment where professionals can engage in education, collaboration and networking to remain competitive in the industry. Northbound is honored to be presenting and sharing its expertise and insight with other professionals in the addiction field to support them in furthering their education and improving effective leadership.
The conference will be held June 2-5 at the La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, California. Neatherton and Alexander will be speaking on the evening of June 2.
