Olympic Medalist Amy Van Dyken-Rouen Chosen as Closing Speaker at Mediware Customer Conference
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) June 07, 2016 -- Mediware Information Systems, Inc., announces another guest speaker at its first combined customer conference. Hundreds of customers will convene in Orlando, Fla., September 14-16, 2016, for product training, educational presentations, and a vendor fair featuring dozens of Mediware’s partners. 6-time Olympic swimming gold medalist Amy Van Dyken-Rouen will serve as the Closing Speaker on Friday, September 16.
Van Dyken-Rouen’s session, “Don’t Let Anyone Tell You No”, will be presented to the nearly 900 customers, team members and vendors attending the three-day event, located on the properties of the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort and Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort. Amy will talk about how she has continually overcome obstacles in her life, from fighting asthma as a young child, to later being told she would not make the Olympic team. But she never gave up on her dream – winning not one, but six gold medals during the 1996 and 2000 Olympics.
Van Dyken - Rouen would meet another trial in her life – this time out of the water. In June 2014, she was riding an ATV in the northern Arizona desert when she crashed. She woke up in a hospital to learn she had a major spinal cord injury, and was paralyzed from the waist down. It was a major hurdle in life, but one that Amy has taken on – recently posting a video showing her walking for the first time in nearly 2 years.
Her journey will be moving to the Mediware customers who work through the post-acute care health spectrum. “Amy’s perseverance, determination and drive is so impactful to those who experience similar trials in life. Her personal perspective will be an inspiration to all of us who attend, as many of our customers’ patients and consumers fight obstacles every day,” said T. Kelly Mann, Mediware’s chief executive officer.
Van Dyken-Rouen’s session is open to all conference attendees.
Registration is open for the event. For more information, including exhibitor opportunities, visit http://www.mediwareconference.com.
