WAKE FOREST, N.C. (PRWEB) June 02, 2016 -- TheClassicalStation.org announces weekly commentaries during Great Sacred Music. Host Rob Kennedy programs a mix of sacred choral and organ music for the program which airs each Sunday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Eastern.
"The music which you hear on Great Sacred Music was created by composers from many different faiths and backgrounds," says Kennedy. "Whether written only a few years ago or in the Middle Ages, it resonates with 21st century listeners just as it did when it was first performed."
Here are the commentators for June 2016:
Sunday, June 5 – Peter Richard Conte, Grand Court Organist of Wanamaker's, Philadelphia, introduces and plays Virgil Fox's arrangement of Bach's Come, Sweet Death.
Sunday, June 12 – The Reverend John L. Saxon of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh, North Carolina, offers a meditation on the Shaker tune Simple Gifts.
Sunday, June 19 – David Jernigan, Organist of Christ Episcopal Church, Raleigh, North Carolina, offers a commentary on a chorale prelude of Johann Sebastian Bach.
