2016 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting Features Research of LRF Scientific Advisory Board Members and Grantees

The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s commitment to advancing the field of lymphoma research through its partnerships with expert lymphoma specialists is highlighted through its many abstracts in both basic and clinical research at ASCO.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services – is proud to have members of its prestigious Scientific Advisory Board and research grantees present innovative and promising research at the 2016 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting taking place June 3-7.

Each year, the ASCO Annual Meeting provides educational sessions featuring world-renown faculty discussing state-of-the-art treatment modalities, new therapies and ongoing debates in the field of oncology. The Annual Meeting, which brings together 30,000 oncology professionals from around the world, has become one of the leading events in the clinical research oncology community. This year, ASCO will feature pivotal abstracts from Lymphoma Research Foundation Scientific Advisory Board members and grantees highlighting the impact of the Foundation’s innovative research portfolio.

“The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s commitment to advancing the field of lymphoma research through its partnerships with expert lymphoma specialists is highlighted through its many abstracts in both basic and clinical research at ASCO,” said Dr. Leo I. Gordon, Chair of the LRF Scientific Advisory Board. “LRF continues to be at the forefront of research by working with the best scientists in the field and investing in research projects that have the greatest potential to impact and improve the treatment and understanding of lymphoma.”

Current members of LRF’s Scientific Advisory Board, which is comprised of 45 world-renowned lymphoma experts and guides LRF research activities and LRF Grantees, will account for 53 unique abstract presentations out of nearly 216 lymphoma-related abstracts at ASCO.

“Having the opportunity to present at ASCO provides a wonderful environment to discuss the latest research findings as well as provides the greatest potential to improve patient care and treatment options,” said Dr. Andrew Evens, LRF Scientific Advisory Board member and featured presenter at this year’s ASCO Annual Meeting. “The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s unique partnerships with scientific leaders, like its Scientific Advisory Board, enable the Foundation to have a meaningful impact on the field of lymphoma research, which can be seen throughout this year’s ASCO presentations.
