Echo-Factory Begins Work for Jobe Sports

Netherlands-based watersports manufacturer selects Pasadena-based advertising agency

Echo-Factory announced today that the Pasadena-based advertising agency had begun work for Jobe Sports, a Netherlands-based watersports equipment manufacturer.

“Jobe has a stellar reputation in the watersports industry,” said Mike Schaffer, Echo-Factory’s CEO. “But they needed local experts here in the United States.”

“We put together a 20-page pitch deck, but I think what impressed them the most about us were the photos of Echo-Factory employees paddleboarding,” said Dea Goldsmith, Echo-Factory’s Chief Creative Officer. “It’s one thing to say you understand a target demographic, it’s another thing to be able to show it.”

“Echo-Factory offered the most accurate insight into our industry,” said Patrick Carley, Jobe’s U.S. National Sales Manager. “They presented the most thought-out plan, in the most creative pitch.”

Echo-Factory’s work for Jobe launches with a Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) contest and demo tour this spring and summer. The “SUP to the People” tour will start with a “Summer Job of a Lifetime” contest online and through social media. The contest seeks two brand ambassadors to lead the tour.

“Jobe came to us for help executing a pretty straightforward brand activation,” said Goldsmith. “We helped them expand that into a multifaceted U.S. Jobe SUP launch that brings together a strong social media aspect, co-sponsored events, PR and much more.”

The winning brand ambassadors will pilot an RV filled with Jobe SUP equipment through Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and California this summer. During the tour, they’ll host demo events, work with local SUP clubs and charitable organizations, paddle some of the most beautiful waters in the country and share their experiences with fans on social media.

“We’ve been able to establish a niche as an agency who can help European brands succeed in the U.S.,” said Schaffer. “It started with Dainese and AGV, now we’re thrilled to be working with Jobe.”
