Enthusiasm Soars for Sold Out Workshop: "Starting & Operating a Successful Medical Cannabis Dispensary, Cultivation, or Infused Products Company"
Oakland, Ca (PRWEB) June 14, 2016 -- The third annual Cannabis Business Summit by The National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) is being held on June 20, 2016 in Oakland, California and is a prime indicator of the level of excitement over the marijuana industry. The workshop entitled “Starting & Operating a Successful Medical Cannabis Dispensary, Cultivation, or Infused Products Company” caught many by surprise when the workshop quickly sold out. Participants paid extra to learn from a group of industry experts.
"NCIA is committed to providing educational opportunities that help both new and experienced cannabis entrepreneurs build the most successful, sustainable, and responsible businesses possible,” said NCIA director of events and education Brooke Gilbert. "It's thrilling to see so much enthusiasm for a workshop dedicated to just that at our largest annual event."
The workshop is taught by a team with extensive experience operating in a regulated environment. They include cannabis business owners, an author, tincture specialist, law professor, lawyer, sales director, and risk professional.
The agenda for the workshop includes a wide range of topics designed to prepare students for the numerous opportunities and challenges in the cannabis industry. According to cannabis lawyer and law professor Bob Hoban, “This opportunity is very exciting for our presenters. Operating in a regulated environment presents a variety of pre and post licensing issues and challenges which are not obvious, but which are navigable with experienced guidance."
Other topics include understanding the important factors when opening a cannabis operation, and best practices to incorporate early in the game to avoid dramatic mistakes. Developing a strong understanding of regulations and compliance will be a significant part of the curriculum.
The conclusion of the all-day workshop will include an analysis of case studies for the cannabis entrepreneurs to apply what they've learned. J. B. Woods, President of Greenpoint Insurance Advisors, LLC indicates "Case studies are an excellent method to allow participants to collaborate, solve problems, and provide solutions. Our goal for the workshop is to provide the participants with real life educational experiences that they can apply to their cannabis operations from day one. "
