The WellBeTM ( the world’s first stress therapy bracelet, just launched a Kickstarter campaign, introducing a new concept in wellness. “Many of my clients accept stress as ‘normal’, and don’t realize its biochemical effects on their health,” said Prudence Hall, M.D., founder and medical director of The Hall Center, a mindful medical practice in Santa Monica, California.

The 45-day Kickstarter campaign seeks to raise $50,000 and in return provide consumers an early opportunity to experience this convergence of technology and time-honored wellness wisdom. During the campaign, the WellBe will be promotionally priced between $99 and $119. After the campaign, the regular price of $149 will take effect.

The sleek, smart bracelet is made of natural, durable, environmentally friendly and soft-on-the skin cork, and is available in a choice of brown, black or natural. Each also includes two straps: one with the signature “flow” logo, and one plain.

The WellBe bracelet tracks the heart rate for 3 minutes every hour. The WellBe app includes a proprietary, patent pending algorithm, which analyzes heart rate variability to determine the wearer’s stress level based on time, location and people present. The app asks permission to access the wearer’s location and calendar so it can analyze and display results. The WellBe app can also be set to notify when stress exceeds a certain level, and automatically offer a selection of balancing exercises for immediate stress reduction.

Stress has been scientifically proven to have a negative impact on human life, producing numerous problems and conditions such as headaches, fatigue, sleeping disorders, digestive problems, high blood pressure, heart diseases, aging and obesity.

“Many of my clients accept stress as ‘normal’, and don’t realize its biochemical effects on their health,” said Prudence Hall, M.D., founder and medical director of The Hall Center, a mindful medical practice in Santa Monica, California, where root causes of conditions are sought in order to treat them effectively. The WellBe is a powerful tool not just for alleviating stress in the moment, but for helping the body to function optimally for the long-term.”

According to Dr. Tal Ben Shahar, whose popular “Positive Psychology” class at Harvard was featured on National Public Radio, mindfulness and meditation have been proven highly effective in releasing stress and are known to contribute to better sleep, productivity and healthier aging. A recent study from Harvard University suggests that meditation influences the grey matter in the brain, thus allowing better aging of the brain and body. The WellBe app makes the most of this wisdom by providing users with easy tools to alleviate stress immediately, wherever they are.

The WellBe is not just about detecting stress but also deflecting it. The app features a large variety of mindfulness exercises such as breathing, guided imagination and meditations, all designed to create relaxation rapidly. Additionally, the WellBe offers 7, 14 and 21-day customized meditation plans from the world-class mentors at The Mentors Channel, along with special classes and guided meditations.

The WellBe also lets users track progress. It measures the changes in stress/calmness levels while recommended exercises are being performed, and provides a “before and after” snapshot.

Developed by a group of entrepreneurs, the WellBe combines unique expertise in well being, mobile apps, heart rate monitoring technologies and a singular devotion to helping people everywhere cope with stress.
