Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry Gives Back to 25 Local Charities during Anniversary Year of Philanthropy
Mineola, New York (PRWEB) June 07, 2016 -- Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry PLLC (http://www.cmgesq.com), the full-service law firm that emerged from Collins, McDonald & Gann in January, has completed its yearlong philanthropic campaign created to mark the 25-year anniversary of the original firm’s founding. The firm launched its “25 for 25” campaign to host, sponsor or attend 25 charitable events during its anniversary year.
In January, Collins, McDonald & Gann expanded to form Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry, as former partner the Hon. Robert (Bob) McDonald, who is now serving in the prestigious role of New York State Supreme Court Justice, ascended to the bench. New partners Gerard McCloskey and David Barry have also joined in the campaign to make a positive impact on not-for-profit organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area.
“We created the 25 for 25 campaign as a way to commemorate our milestone 25th anniversary and give back to local causes as a firm,” said Rick Collins, who, along with Marc Gann and former partner the Hon. Robert McDonald, launched the Mineola-based criminal defense firm in 1990. “As we expanded into Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry in January, the campaign gave us the opportunity to continue this philanthropic effort by also incorporating the causes and charities important to our new partners and Of Counsel relationships, and was a great way to both honor our past and look forward to the future of our expanded firm.”
Along with adding Gerard McCloskey and David Barry as partners, the firm has also launched a number of new practice areas. In addition to its longtime leadership in criminal defense, dietary supplement law, and legal counsel for cases involving anabolic steroids, the firm has added designated practice divisions handling elder law and personal injury law — forming strategic partnerships with a number of attorneys both locally and nationally as part of the firm’s growth. The firm will continue to work with California lawyers Alan Feldstein and Robert Danko in the area of dietary supplement and FDA law. Throughout this past year the firm has also formed Of Counsel relationships with top Florida white collar criminal defense attorney Tama Kudman and with the Ansanelli Law Group, a leading elder law firm based on Long Island. All partners and Of Counsel attorneys with the firm were part of the 25 for 25 campaign, participating in causes important to each attorney.
Some of the specific charities and causes supported through the 25 for 25 campaign by either attorney participation in events and/or donations include:
• PinkTie.org
• Long Beach Soup Kitchen Annual Fundraiser
• “Night on the Town” to Benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
• Lexiebean Foundation’s 5th Annual Wish Upon a Star Gala
• Cheetah Conservation Fund’s 4th Annual Fundraiser
• Urban Mudder Run — fundraiser for Make-a-Wish
• Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (prostate cancer charity event)
• Tunnel to Towers 5K Run/Walk New York City
• LI Crisis Center Walk
• WeCARE – Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
• Mineola Kiwanis Club – Golf Outing Fundraiser
• Kids Run Long Island

Since its founding in 1990, the firm — which has grown to include 12 attorneys and various support staff members among its Of Counsel entities — has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, with partners named multiple times to the list of New York Metro Super Lawyers and awarded the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®. Each of the partners also serves as adjunct faculty at law schools throughout the region, including Hofstra Law and Touro Law, and they are all active in a number of local and national professional organizations where they have held leadership roles.
