Capriza Named Finalist in Amazon Web Services’ City on A Cloud Innovation Challenge
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) June 07, 2016 -- Capriza, a leader in enterprise mobility for business applications, today announced that it was named a finalist in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) 2016 City on a Cloud Innovation Challenge in the Partner in Innovation category. Capriza was named for its enterprise mobility platform that enabled the City of Los Angeles to create efficient, effective, bite-sized mobile apps (Zapps) to help them become a smart modern city.
Using Capriza, the City of Los Angeles’ Information Technology Agency (ITA) deployed a host of Zapps for its 48,000 employees and city officials, including constituent communications for city officials, employee directory for city employees, brush inspection for the LAFD, and more. The brush inspection Zapp in particular, replaced an antiquated pen-to-paper-to-computer process and took just one week to create – in time for the brush fire season during the worst drought California has experienced in 100 years. Within the first 2 weeks of launching the Zapp, 18,000 brush inspections were completed using the Zapp, resulting in a 150% increase in productivity. Zapps were created by the City of Los Angeles’ existing IT resources and hosted on Capriza’s Cloud which utilizes Amazon Web Services to deliver a secure, non-disruptive solution that requires no additional infrastructure.
“Without Capriza and Amazon Web Services, the City of LA would have had to invest in hardware, infrastructure, and development resources to mobilize the City workforce,” said Ted Ross, CIO, Information Technology Agency, City of Los Angeles. “Capriza saved us $2.4 million over the traditional mobile application approach just for the apps we have created to date.”
“We’re honored to be recognized by AWS as a Partner in Innovation for the mobile apps created using our platform for the City of Los Angeles,” said Shay Peretz, Manager of Operations at Capriza. “By delivering our solution on the leading enterprise cloud platform, we’re able to offer customers a solution that’s quick, cost-effective, and non-disruptive to their existing systems, enabling city and state government to extend mobility for better city management or as a service to their citizens."
Entrants of the AWS’ 2016 City on a Cloud Innovation Challenge in the Partner in Innovation Category were evaluated on uniqueness of application, number and type of users of the application, applicability and availability of the application to governments of different size and scope and in different regions, and availability on the AWS marketplace within 2016.
