Rockabye Mommy Designs Nursery Room for Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and Wife Lauren Kitt Carter
Laguna Hills, CA (PRWEB) June 09, 2016 -- Rockabye Mommy, a full-service interior design firm specializing in nurseries and children’s rooms based in Southern California, was enlisted by Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and wife Lauren Kitt Carter to design the nursery room for their first child, Odin Reign Carter.
As the sophomore effort to designing a nursery and playroom for Backstreet Boy AJ McLean’s daughter, Rockabye Mommy was contacted by Nick and Lauren to create a safe and stylish room for the newest addition to their family.
“I was thrilled to work with Lauren and Nick – Lauren already has such a great sense of style so it was fun pulling this room together to reflect her classic taste”, says Stephanie Avila, Principal and Lead Designer of Rockabye Mommy.
After initial discussions regarding the general design direction, Stephanie got to work pulling actual product and began space planning to determine placement of every piece that was being presented to Lauren and Nick. Starting with the Novella crib by Nurseryworks, which was a sweet surprise baby shower gift from fellow bandmate AJ McLean and his wife Rochelle, the furniture and accessories were selected to work with the style of the crib, keeping in mind that a timeless and sophisticated feel was the ultimate goal.
The first major task was locking down the wallpaper selection since that element alone would carry a lot of weight in terms of the overall style of the space. After going through numerous wallpaper options, Lauren and Nick narrowed it down to two and ultimately decided on the steampunk flying machines paper. This pattern on every wall was such a great choice and really added a sense of playfulness to the space. Stephanie took a bit of the industrial feel of the selected wallpaper and combined it with modern elements to fill the space, adding sweet childlike pieces throughout that brought a playful sense to the room. With each thoughtfully selected piece, the room transformed into a beautifully serene space that Lauren and Nick can both enjoy with Odin.
Although designed for a baby, Odin’s room has a timeless and sophisticated feel that will grow with him through the years. This was such a wonderful project to work on and the whole process went smoothly. The finished product is a result of the love and fun that went into creating it.
Lauren and Nick welcomed son Odin Reign Carter on April 19th, 2016.
