Early on we learned that peer-to-peer reviews significantly influence which of our member destinations travelers book reservations with,” explained CellarPass co-founder Sarah Elliman.

Four Napa Valley wineries and one in Sonoma County took top honors in the third annual CellarPass Destination Awards competition, earning accolades for the best visitor experience and customer service excellence. The annual awards competition was created by CellarPass, the leading online reservations and ticketing platform, to recognize their destination partners who rise above the rest with regards to top-notch hospitality to their guests.

More than 150,000 travelers and industry professionals were invited to vote between March 18 and June 1st, and more than 150 destinations were nominated in six categories: Best Unique Tasting Experience; Most Friendly & Knowledgeable Staff; Best Food & Wine Pairing; Best Wine Education Experience; Best Hidden Gem; and Best Romantic Destination. While vote tallies were close in most categories, two wineries won for the third consecutive year: J Vineyards and Winery, which won for Best Food & Wine Pairing; and Robert Mondavi Winery, for the third time won the Most Friendly & Knowledgeable Staff category.

“Early on we learned that peer-to-peer reviews significantly influence which of our member destinations travelers book reservations with,” explained CellarPass co-founder Sarah Elliman. “The annual CellarPass Destination Awards program takes those guest reviews a step further, allowing our guests to recognize our destinations that raise the bar when it comes to providing the best hospitality experience.”

Overall, women cast 62.1% of the votes; males cast 37.9%. As expected, a plurality of votes, representing 40.9% of the total cast, were from the influential 35-54 age group. About a quarter of all votes were cast by 25-34-year-olds, while those older than 54 accounted for 29.9% of those voting.
