Professional Screening and Information releases new features for its proprietary BackgroundWise online system

BackgroundWise, which allows clients to enter applicant information on their own, has been totally rebuilt into an improved, robust system that now allows for extensive parent/child control for multiple users across multiple locations, features an intuitive interface and a full-fledged mobile version that allows data entry from any device anywhere. It is all part of PSI's goal to continually improve processes for clients and be responsive to their needs.
"We are seeing more and more clients express interest in entering their own information and I think their goal behind that is to help speed up the processes from their end as well as from ours," said PSI Operations Manager Sarah Long. "While we've always provided a very responsible turnaround time, anything we can do to assist in that makes it a better process across the board. Also, we have clients coming on from other providers, and they have expressed an interest in maintaining the ability to enter their own requests. We improved BackgroundWise to give clients this ability while making ourselves more competitive and staying abreast of what the industry as a whole is doing."
The parent/child control for multiple users allows clients to segment off certain information from individual users as well as various locations. For example, if a company has multiple locations the human resources manager will be able to set up an umbrella account for the entire business and give each office its own login information. Based on the company’s own policies and procedures the background investigations and information for each location can either be open to all locations or restricted to each pertinent location. BackgroundWise is easily customizable in this respect, which allows clients to quickly set how much or how little information each location can access.
As tablets and cell phones become an increasingly important tool in global business, offering BackgroundWise as a mobile site was a major customer service decision for PSI. The data entry portal allows for clients to enter information from any device at any time.
Looking ahead, PSI will be updating and refining its applicant entry system. This system provides human resource managers, employers, and nonprofits flexibility by allowing applicants to enter their own information for their background report. The applicant entry system functions in the same manner as the client portal by including location segmentation and a mobile site. Future improvements will give employers the ability to set up templates for their applicants and email a link so they can enter their own data. Some of the additional features will include improved electronic signatures and further ensuring Federal Credit Reporting Act compliance at all levels.
All BackgroundWise improvements are made with an eye to PSI's future and its ongoing relationships with clients, Long said.
