Diamond and WMCHealth are looking at provider models, bed complements and using multiple avenues to reach people in need of mental health services – a forward thinking approach that will have a positive impact on the area and treat patients closer to home.

Diamond Healthcare Corporation (Diamond), a leading provider of population health services throughout the United States is close to wrapping up strategic assessments at WMCHealth’s Hospitals.

“These assessments are critical as our organizations collaborate to formulate the most appropriate strategy for an integrated continuum of behavioral healthcare through the Westchester Medical Center Health Network,” said Richard Feldman, Diamond’s President and CEO. “Together, Diamond and WMCHealth are looking at provider models, bed complements and using multiple avenues to reach people in need of mental health services.”

“WMCHealth is comprised of 10 hospitals spanning an entire region. We are now one of the largest provider of mental health services in New York State and are devoted to providing quality care as close to our patients’ homes as possible,” explained Eric Amoh, Senior Vice President, Clinical Services, WMCHealth. “Our vision is to create a regional, integrated behavioral health care delivery system that can be deployed across our network, and we are turning to Diamond to help us realize this vision.”

Assessments have been completed in six hospitals across the WMCHealth Network in Poughkeepsie, Suffern, Port Jervis, Kingston and Margaretville.

Diamond partnered with the WMCHealth in December 2015 to provide management services for the Behavioral Health Center on its Valhalla campus, the first step in a much larger initiative.
