Nominations are now open for the Awards at http://www.LeadershipCharacterAwards.org, and all nominees for the Awards will be honored at the luncheon ceremony on October 4th at the Georgia Aquarium. Nominations should be in process by June 30th, 2016 and will be accepted in 6 categories: CEO – Large Company, CEO – Small/Medium Company, Executive/Manager, Education, Non Profit, and “Inspiritor.”
Winners in each category are selected by the Advisory Board. The Advisory Board of the Leadership Character Awards includes Ann Cramer, Senior Consultant with Coxe Curry & Associates and former Director for IBM of Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs, Tom Crawford, retired Chairman and CEO of Crawford & Company and a 2007 Turknett Leadership Character Award winner, David Ratcliffe, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Company, Conchita Robinson, President and CEO, C. Robinson Associates, Inc. and, Dr. Betty Siegel, President Emeritus and Endowed Chair of Leadership, Ethics and Character, Kennesaw State University.
Francis S. “Frank” Blake, former Chairman and CEO of The Home Depot, will be the fourth recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Leadership Character.
AT&T will be the presenting sponsor for the 2016 Awards, and FHLBank Atlanta and Strategic Management Decisions will also sponsor.
About the Leadership Character Awards
Since 2003, the Turknett Leadership Character Awards have recognized individuals and companies who display character in leadership in accordance with the Leadership Character Model. Across Georgia, over 75 leaders and companies have been recognized since the Leadership Character Awards began. In 2014, the Turknett Leadership Group entered into a partnership with the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership to present the awards together. The 2016 Leadership Character Awards will be presented by the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership in partnership with the Turknett Leadership Group and will be held on October 4, 2016 at the Georgia Aquarium. Proceeds from the event will help the Greenleaf center (501c3) fulfill its mission of enhancing the awareness and practice of Servant Leadership to create a more caring society.
