Usource, a premier energy advisory firm to large commercial, industrial and institutional organizations, announced today that it will “green up” the 2016 Northeast Buildings and Facilities Management Show and Conference (NEBFM) held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Usource, together with Carbon Solutions Group, will donate Green-e certified renewable energy credits (RECs) for the event. This joint donation will match 100 per cent of the estimated electricity consumption at the event held June 29th - 30th, to include set-up day on June 28th.
“We are pleased to work with NEBFM to highlight the importance of renewable energy, and have the event be a positive example for sustainability by becoming carbon-neutral.” said Scott MacDonald, Managing Director at Usource. “At Usource, we are increasingly working with businesses to integrate renewable energy solutions into their energy management strategies.”
This year’s NEBFM conference is expected to host over 200 exhibitors and thousands of attendees from across the region. The donated RECs will be permanently retired at the conclusion of the 3-day event.
“Usource has been a long-standing participant and supporter of the NEBFM conference. We are excited to work with them to reduce our event’s environmental impact as our Green Energy Sponsor.” said Michael Campisi, Managing Director at ProExpos Group, the event organizer. “With this generous donation, our participants and attendees can feel good knowing that NEBFM16 will be carbon-neutral.”
