TABS Analytics CEO Dr. Kurt Jetta will be a featured speaker at the 2016 Wells Fargo Food and Food Retail Forum, taking place at Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago from June 14, 2016 through June 15, 2016. During the two day forum, Wells Fargo invited attendees will be able to learn from focused panel discussions, select company presentations and customized one-on-one meetings.

Dr. Jetta will deliver his presentation “Misguided Paradigms of CPG Trade Promotion” at the Forum from 2:20 PM to 2:50 CDT on June 15. The presentation will discuss the macro pressures that have been weighing on the consumer packaged goods (CPG) consumption for the last five years. Attendees will learn about the bifurcation between larger companies (which represent 65 percent of CPG sales) and have seen sales flatten compared to smaller firms (less than $50 million in sales) where sales have increased. Jetta will demonstrate that much of the underperformance of larger companies has been due to poor trade promotion strategy and execution. Attendees will also learn the strategies that Jetta recommends to help drive “profitable” promotional events including:

  • What promotional tactics and corresponding offers provide the best ROIs
  • How to identify promotional arbitrage opportunities and riskless profits
  • How to properly structure loyalty card programs as effective promotional tools

John Baumgartner, senior food analyst of Wells Fargo Securities, will be the moderator.

In addition to being the CEO, founder and lead product developer for TABS Analytics, a technology-enabled retail and consumer analytics firm, Jetta is also the Director of the Research Unit of the Economics of Consumer Marketing which is a part of the Center for International Policy at Fordham University. He is a frequent contributor to industry publications and symposiums.
