Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust to Roll Out Winscribe Text Trust-Wide
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB) June 15, 2016 -- Following a rigorous competitive tendering process, Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust has awarded Winscribe a 5-year contract to supply its next generation Clinical Correspondence solution Winscribe Text trust-wide.
The aim of the project is to facilitate the trust's operational improvement plan and increase workflow efficiencies within the trust's letter production process. This project will also aid in speeding up turnaround times and enhance patient care and safety, whilst ensuring effective use of our resources. The new solution will include speech recognition and will be rolled out to up to 1,000 users. As part of the project Winscribe Text will be integrated with the trust's PAS (IPM) and Windip document and patient record system. Winscribe Text will also interface with Docman for letters distribution, and at a later date with the trust’s new PAS/EPR system. Clinicians will dictate from an electronic clinic lists using the very latest Philips devices, and the trust plans to make available Winscribe’s leading mobility app on smartphone and other mobile devices in the future.
Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS service providers in the West Midlands, with around 560,000 outpatient appoints per annum, over 700,000 community contacts and responsible for the care of 530,000 local people from across North-West Birmingham.
The new system will go live in the next few months and will be fully rolled out across the trust by May 2017.

Rachel Barlow, Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust commented:
"The tendering process was very competitive, but we found that the Winscribe Text solution was the best match for our needs. Winscribe demonstrated the easy functionality and quality of the system to our clinicians and demonstrated an understanding of our needs, delivering in a professional manner throughout the entire process. Working with them has demonstrated that they understand our current needs and are working with us to meet our future ones. We are ready to roll out and are reassured that Winscribe’s Project Team are there supporting us with our go live for our early adopters."
