Locally Distilled, Internationally Recognized Spirits Now Available at Over 300 Michigan Locations
Grand Rapids, Michigan (PRWEB) June 14, 2016 -- The first Grand Rapids grain-to-glass distillery, Long Road Distillers, has expanded distribution of their internationally recognized line of spirits to over 300 retail accounts, including 108 locations for regional supermarket company, Meijer and 31 locations for SpartanNash corporate stores. The distillery specializes in creating a premium assortment of handcrafted whisky, vodka, gin and aquavit using locally sourced ingredients.
“The Long Road team works hard to create a world class line-up of spirits using time-honored techniques and local ingredients,” said Jon O’Connor, co-owner at Long Road Distillers. “One of the best parts of what we do is sharing our products with others. This expanded distribution allows us to do that across the state of Michigan, reaching more people who are seeking out Michigan-made products at major retailers and local specialty shops.”
Long Road Distillers currently has the following spirits available in distribution throughout Michigan:
• Long Road Vodka – $29.99
• Long Road Gin – $34.99
• Long Road Wendy Peppercorn – $34.99
• Long Road Aquavit – $34.99
• Long Road Wheat Whisky – $39.99
The distillery has been in business since May 2015. Since then, their line of spirits has garnered a multitude of international honors. The most notable accolades were earned at some of the largest international spirits competitions in the world and include four double-gold medals, eleven gold medals, seven silver medals, six bronze medals and multiple best in show and best in category recognitions. The West Michigan distillery was also recently named one of the best new distilleries in the world, listed alongside distilleries in Scotland, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
“Being recognized at the finest international spirits competitions in the world is a huge accomplishment,” said Kyle Van Strein, co-owner of Long Road Distillers. “But the most exciting aspect of what we do is sharing what we've created with people. We look forward to expanding our footprint throughout Michigan with new retailers, bars and restaurants so more people have the opportunity to enjoy our spirits.”
The newly formed relationships between Long Road Distillers and retailers, like Meijer and SpartanNash corporate stores, is part of the movement to integrate more handcrafted spirits into their alcoholic beverage selection, similar to the growth seen in the craft beer sections over the past decade.

About Long Road Distillers:
Long Road Distillers was born from the belief that making world-class spirits means never taking shortcuts along the way. After becoming the first craft distillery in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Long Road Distillers formed relationships with local farmers to bring that mission to Grand Rapids’ West Side neighborhood. Each spirit produced at Long Road Distillers is milled from locally sourced ingredients, fermented, and distilled on-site. The result is an uncompromised lineup of spirits including Vodka, Gin, Whisky and more. Their spirits, along with a handcrafted collection of cocktails and a wide variety of food can be enjoyed at their tasting room.
