Grays Harbor County Fair Celebrates Summer Family Fun 'Through the Years' Aug. 10-14
Elma, WA (PRWEB) June 17, 2016 -- The Grays Harbor County Fair is a summer tradition throughout Grays Harbor County, and this year’s event celebrates with five days of family fun Aug. 10-14.
It’s a real old fashioned summer fair: from the 4-H animals and gardening/baking displays, to the amusement rides and games and musical entertainment for the whole family. And don’t forget all of the delicious fair food.
“We chose this year’s theme ‘Through the Years’ to honor the tradition and history of the Grays Harbor County Fair,” said Mike Bruner, Grays Harbor Fairgrounds and Tourism Manager. “As always, we’ve packed all five days with activities, food and entertainment for the ultimate fair experience. Many fair favorites are back combined with all new fun.”
Fair admission includes free general admission seating for a variety of country, pop and rock entertainment on the Pepsi Stage. This year’s lineup includes Corey Daniels and Humptulips on Aug. 12 and Guns ‘N Roses tribute band Appetite for Deception (sponsored by the Vaughan Company) on Aug. 13.
Grammy nominee country stars Brothers Osborne (sponsored by Horns & Hooks and Bigfoot 107.3) will headline a show Aug. 10 and country legend Tanya Tucker (sponsored by Bigfoot 107.3) performs Aug. 11, with reserved seats for each show at $30, which includes admission to the Fair. Tickets are available in advance at the Grays Harbor County Fair office. General admission seating for both shows is free with paid admission to the Grays Harbor County Fair.
The raceway will roar with car racing on Aug. 13 at 5 p.m. – a Grays Harbor County Fair tradition – free with paid admission to the Fair, and sponsored by Grays Harbor Raceway.
All of the family favorite activities are back, including the Predators of the Heart educational wildlife exhibit, the critters of Goat Mountain, comedian Eric Haines, Roberto the Magnificent’s comedy stunt show and the Home Depot Kids Building Workshop. And of course, all of the popular animals, floral, garden and food displays throughout the grounds.
“There is something for everyone at the Fair – and of course, don’t forget about our popular carnival rides,” said Bruner. “Our unlimited Davis Ride wristbands offer a full day of carnival rides fun and are available in advance or at the carnival lot during the Fair.”
Fair admission tickets are priced at $10 for adults, $6 for seniors and $6 for students 6-15 (kids 5 and under are free). The Fair will also honor current and former military service members’ families with a $2 military discount throughout all five days of the Fair. Other Fair discount admissions include Kids Day promotions on Thursday Aug. 6 featuring $1 off Kids Admission, and Sunday features free admission from 10-11 a.m. only. Unlimited Davis Carnival ride wristbands are available at the pre-sale price of $22 at the Grays Harbor County Fair office and all Grays Harbor County Anchor Banks. The ride wristbands are priced at $26 at the carnival lot.
Fair hours are 10 am – 10 pm, Aug. 10-12; 10 am – 11 pm, Aug. 13; and 10 am – 6 pm, Aug. 14.
