Senate Select Insurance of Maryland and D.C. is now offering customers the ability to purchase auto insurance over the phone. With a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and driver's license, the entire process takes just five minutes.

In a win for consumer convenience, Senate Select Insurance of Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia, now offers immediate auto insurance with the use of a smartphone.

A consumer looking for immediate auto insurance need only supply their driver's license and VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) number via a smartphone and assuming everything checks out, the entire transaction can take place over the phone in just five minutes.

Online convenience is driving companies from Uber to Amazon, but has seemed to stagnate when it comes to the insurance industry. This marks a revolutionary change in the industry and is made available to consumers as a result of modern day technology, as well as a commitment to that technology by Senate Select Insurance.

Vice President Gregory Taylor says, "We realize that insurance has been a bit behind other industries when it comes to utilizing the advances that technology has provided. Senate Select is committed to making the most of technology, especially when it helps our customers."

Other methods of procuring insurance are still available: in-store (in one of their eleven locations in MD, VA and DC), or calling them with any phone at 800-622-9333 in the Washington D.C. area and 410-467-8733 in the Baltimore area. Consumers can also visit their website:
