Flash Global Hires Liston to Lead Global Trade Compliance Team
MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J. (PRWEB) June 16, 2016 -- Flash Global, a leading provider of holistic service supply chain solutions, announced Peter Liston has joined the company as its new Senior Director of Global Trade Compliance.
Liston brings to Flash a diverse background in export enforcement from a U.S. perspective. Most recently Liston was the Director of Global Compliance for Future Electronics, a global distributor of electronic components based in Canada. In that role, he served as the principle adviser to the company on global trade compliance issues, especially U.S. export regulations as they pertain to EAR commercial, dual-use and ITAR export control issues.

Liston’s career also includes two years working for the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) as an Export Control Attaché at the American Embassy in Moscow, Russia (June 2007 through August 2009). Prior to his Moscow assignment, Liston served as the Assistant Attaché at the American Embassy in Vienna, Austria with Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from June 2000 through May 2007.
Liston was the Senior Customs Advisor to the Joint Terrorism Task Force in the Miami FBI office from 1997 through 2000, assigned primarily Hamas and Irish Republican Army (IRA) investigations. He also worked export enforcement investigations with DHS/Customs in the Miami Field Office from 1989 through 1997, during which time he was a Special Agent with the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security assigned to the security detail protecting Secretary of State George P. Schultz (1984-89).
From 1982 through 1984, Liston worked narcotic investigations for the U.S. Customs Service in New York and New Jersey. He received several awards and recognition of his work in all the areas of his investigative experience.
Liston holds a Bachelor of Science with honors from Northeastern University’s College of Criminal Justice, Boston, Massachusetts.
