Warren Hill to discuss new Hill-RBF calculator at Oxford Congress
Harlow, Essex (PRWEB UK) 17 June 2016 -- Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, is pleased to announce that Dr Warren Hill will be discussing the new and innovative Hill-RBF calculator during his presentation at the Oxford Ophthalmological Congress on 3rd – 6th July 2016.
The Congress, taking place at the New Theatre in Oxford, is celebrating its 100th anniversary and is a key event in the ophthalmology calendar. Dr Warren Hill, MD, FACS, will be speaking on Wednesday 6th July on the topic, ‘Optimising refractive outcomes after cataract surgery: Meeting Growing Expectations.’
The new Hill-RBF calculator is an advanced, self-validating method for IOL power selection which improves refractive accuracy. It employs pattern recognition and sophisticated data interpolation. The calculator is entirely data-driven and is independent of the limitations of theoretical vergence formulas. Unlike older, static theoretical formulas, this approach will be continually updated, increasing the overall accuracy.
The Hill-RBF calculator has been optimised for use with the Haag-Streit LENSTAR LS 900, using optical biometry for all axial measurements, along with high-density autokeratometry.
Sam Laidlaw, HS-UK Product Manager, said, “The Hill-RBF calculator is a revolutionary leap forward in IOL power calculation. It will increase patient safety and give physicians better data, enabling them to more confidently predict outcomes.”
The calculator will be available exclusively on the Haag-Streit LENSTAR LS 900 and will be included in the next release of EyeSuite software later in the year.
