(PRWEB) June 17, 2016 -- The San Diego employment law lawyers at Blumenthal, Nordrhaug & Bhowmik filed a putative class action lawsuit against Culinart of California, Inc. The primary allegations in the complaint allege that Culinart failed to compensate their Golden State employees for all overtime worked. The pending class action lawsuit against Culinart of California, Case No. 37-2016-00019849-CU-OE-CTL, is currently pending in the San Diego County Superior Court for the State of California. The class action lawsuit against Culinart of California states that Culinart allegedly failed to have a timekeeping system that accurately recorded and paid their California employees for all overtime wages.
The lawsuit further alleges that Culinart failed to have policies and procedures in place that provided their California employees with meal breaks. California labor laws provide that any employee scheduled to work more than five (5) hours shall receive, at a minimum, a thirty (30) minute uninterrupted off duty meal break. Allegedly, even though these employees forfeited meal breaks, they received no additional compensation as required under the labor code.
