Land of Confusion, Cyber Insurance - An Executive Women in Technology Panel Discussion

DatumSec | Scalable 3rd-party Risk Assessments

The upcoming Innovate Pasadena Cybersecurity Meetup will take place on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 on the 4th floor of the ADP Innovation Center located at 55 South Lake, Pasadena, CA. Co-sponsors Optiv and DatumSec are pleased to welcome a distinguished panel of information risk management, cyber insurance, and security investigation experts. These leaders in their respective fields are poised to discuss how a staggering number of the professionals confessed to a total lack of understanding surrounding the complexities of risk management as it relates to obtaining a cyber insurance policy that could bear a successful claim, and also how brokers believed there was little to no clarity about what is covered once a claim is made.

On the agenda are questions and talking points such as:

  • What do you really know about cyber insurance?
  • What does cyber insurance look like?
  • Does your organization follow minimum required practices as it pertains to cyber insurance?
  • Do any of your 3rd parties follow minimum required practices as it pertains to your cyber policy?
  • What happens to your organization if your insurance underwriter denies your claim? More specifically, what happens to YOU?
  • …. And much, much more

A serious cause for concern highlighted by Fortune 500 including small and medium businesses, insurance agencies are determining that the client is at fault for "failure to follow minimum required practices”. Claimant payouts are being denied by the courts, but if the organization is not proven negligent, payments may be granted, but not without significant litigation costs.

A distinguished panel of executive women in security will discuss what you need to know about Cyber Insurance:

  • Rebecca Pearson | Senior Vice President | Willis Group, FINEX North America Cyber and E&O
  • Valerie Vizena | Director Third Party Risk and Brand Protection | DocuSign
  • Wendy Wu | Vice President | Stroz Friedberg, Security and Investigations

Representatives from the sponsors will also be on-hand:

  • Nardo Manaloto | Eonify | CEO & Founder
  • Michael Schell | DatumSec | Third-Party Risk Expert

Be sure to arrive on time, hungry and thirsty; there will be water, soda, beer, wine, and lots of delicious food from Del Friscos Grille.

Spaces are limited to 100 people so please register and reserve your seat early.
