Harbor House Apartments near the University of Michigan announce today the unveiling of its newest resident amenity, Duo-Gard Bike Shelters.

Harbor House Apartments is dedicated to customer service and providing high-end accommodations primarily geared for mature students and young professionals.

“Many residents are attuned to the alternatives of walking and biking,” says Harbor House Student Housing area manager Amanda Mills. “In our area, many people prefer walking or biking due to the traffic and the scarcity of parking around town,” Mills says. “The shelters make it more convenient for residents.”

The Duo-Gard shelters feature a graceful curved roof of 8mm translucent multiwall polycarbonate in an opal tint. This shatterproof, recyclable material allows a high degree of diffused daylight, while providing protection for residents’ bikes. Clear anodized aluminum creates durable, high-performance structural framing. U-style bike parking racks feature plastic-wrapped tops that add further protection for bikes.

Further, Mills stated, “Harbor House Apartments are close to both the University of Michigan and many Ann Arbor businesses. With the awareness of sustainability and environmental concern in our community, we see even more use of bicycles to commute to campus and work. Naturally, our goal was to add an amenity that catered to this trend. And the residents have already taken notice and enjoy the new perk of living at Harbor House Apartments.”
