NYC Chiropractor Dr Tyler Savory Adds Functional Movement Taping to Integrated Practice in Manhattan
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 23, 2016 -- Dr. Tyler Savory, a New York City based chiropractor will soon provide RockTape "Functional Movement Techniques" in Manhattan. Dr. Savory has been a provider of chiropractic medicine in Manhattan for well over a year now. and has been looking to expand his repertoire to provide even more treatment options for his patients. Dr. Savory has also been a beneficiary of chiropractic medicine; after suffering from a back injury, he found it relived his condition without medication or surgery. He then decided that becoming a chiropractic would be where he would devote his focus and graduated from New York Chiropractic College in November 2013. Dr. Savory now works alongside physical therapists, and massage therapists as an associate chiropractor with Dr. Steven Shoshany. He’s excited to be part of an an integrated downtown Manhattan practice that specializes in non-surgical treatment for an array of issues.
Dr. Savory just returned from a RockTape seminar on June 11 and 12, 2016, after completing his Functional Movement Taping certification. Functional Movement Taping is a RockTape method that uses the heory of "kinesiology taping for the purposes of rehabilitation, edema/swelling management, neuropathic pain, scar mobility and postural management." The RockTape website goes on to state that "Functional Movement Techniques (FMT) is a 2-part kinesiology taping certification led by industry leading experts in movement assessment and therapy. FMT is based on the obvious yet largely overlooked concept of muscles acting as a chain."
While Dr.Savory has been working alongside a certified RockDoc, who is also the practice's Physical Therapist. Dr. Savory feels that more kinesiology taping providers are a great asset to any practice that specializes in treating patients for long term results while using non-surgical methods. He feels that the seminar and the resulting certification will help him continue to strive forward in his field. Dr. Savory says that "if you want to keep helping people heal, especially form long term issues, you have to aim to get them back to the level they were before they go hurt. Its not enough to just get them to walk pain free, they want to run, climb, work out, and be able to keep up with their lifestyles and hobbies. Though more tools at your disposal, the more likely you are to be able to help your patients at every level of the recovery process. Runners want to run, climbers want to climb, athletes want to remain athletic. Those goals are very important, and my goal is to help them get back there."
Dr. Savory has also seen the use of assistive taping first hand. As for kinesiology tape specifically, he states that “kinesiology taping is an excellent therapeutic adjunct for pain modulation, postural deficits and reduction of swelling. I’ve been using kinesiology tape, RockTape in particular, for about two years and I’ve found it to be superior to other kinesiology taping products. I have found that kinesiology tape works tremendously with patients that are in acute pain or in the acute phases of postural correction.”
Dr. Savory’s patients have also been undergoing physical therapy, and one of the many tools used to lower the chances of patients exacerbating their injury has been kinesiology taping. After his latest certification Dr. Savory intends to attend seminars and certification focusing on a range of topics from athletic performance, to specific soft tissue treatment techniques. He intends to ensure that he continues to grow his knowledge base and ability help his patients get the best from his practice.
