Semrock, a unit of IDEX Health & Science, LLC, has entered into a supply agreement with AVR Optics (http://www.avr-optics.com) for the distribution of its optical filters and optical mirrors within the United States and Canada. AVR Optics was founded by a team with deep experience in the Life Science and Analytical Instrumentation markets and offers a tremendous extension to the Semrock sales support team. AVR will primarily focus on educational institutions and government research labs in the Eastern half of the United States and Canada starting in late June of this year.

“We truly felt that this was a great opportunity for us to improve our customer service,” stated Mike Ransford, the General Manager at Semrock. “We take great pride in the quality of our products and the service levels we have been able to achieve in the optical filter industry. As we continue to expand, we wanted to make sure we could enhance the level of support we are able to give to the university and research communities. Having a partner like AVR, that shares our values and our commitment to excellence, will be a great benefit to researchers, microscope end-users, engineers, and students. We think of AVR as a true extension of our factory.”

Customers will be able to receive expert knowledge on Semrock products and order Semrock parts directly from AVR Optics via phone (585-445-7588), fax (585-445-7582) or web (http://www.avr-optics.com). All customers can still place orders on the Semrock website as well; however, both teams will strive for improved technical support by combining resources and will work hard for a seamless interface between the two companies.
