Delta Dental Awarded California Denti-Cal Administrative Services Contract
San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) June 24, 2016 -- Delta Dental of California today announced it has been awarded a two-year contract, with five option years, which allows the company to continue as the administrator for Denti-Cal, the Medi-Cal dental program for enrolled children and adults.
The new contract begins on July 1, 2017.
Denti-Cal draws on state and federal funds to cover more than 13 million Californians, representing the single largest state dental public insurance program in the country. Denti-Cal offers comprehensive benefits for covered pregnant women, children in families with household incomes up to 250% of poverty (up to $60,750 for a family of four), and more limited benefits to adults who earn up to 138% of the federal poverty level (up to $32,319 for a family of four).
Delta Dental, a San Francisco-based nonprofit health care service plan, has run the program since its inception in 1974.
Anthony S. Barth, president and CEO of Delta Dental of California and its affiliates, said the new contract calls for additional outreach to beneficiaries, along with expedited processes to make the program easier for dentists to join and work with its administrator.
“Delta Dental is pleased to continue its 42-year partnership with the state of California,” said Barth. “We look forward to the changes in the new contract, which should improve its delivery of effective, needed services to beneficiaries.”
