2016 USA Volleyball Girls and Boys Junior Nationals Sets Participation Records On Sport Court® Surfaces
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) June 27, 2016 -- When more than 15,000 girls volleyball players ages 12 to 18 descended on Indianapolis for the 2016 USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships (GJNC) all matches were played on Sport Court® playing surfaces that have transformed the sport of volleyball to allow for concurrent match play in a convention center setting.
Sport Court installed 84 Sport Court Maple Select™ courts at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis for the USA Volleyball GJNC configuration that transformed the cavernous convention center into a hub of competitive volleyball for more than 6,000 players on over 1,200 teams and a cumulative total of 30,000 spectators.
Adding to the summer of 2016 USA Volleyball takeover, the Boy’s Junior National Championships was also played on 39 Sport Court surfaces at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas beginning Sunday, June 29 with an estimated nearly 2,500 matches to be played by more than 5,000 players on over 500 teams representing a record level of participation and a 17% increase from the 2015 championships.
“USA Volleyball and other volleyball officials have told us that Sport Court has had a hugely significant impact over the past 42 years on the growth of participation in the sport for girls and women,” said Ron Cerny, CEO, Connor Sport Court International.
