Kansas City, Mo. (PRWEB) June 29, 2016 -- Pointworks Academy today announced it will open the first accelerated learning program for user experience (UX) and digital product management careers in Kansas City, Mo. later this summer.
Created by the owners of Useagility, a leading user experience research and design firm, Pointworks Academy will offer practical, hands-on training for individuals seeking to start new careers and corporations looking to train their technology teams.
“Nearly every company in today’s society has some kind of technology or digital products associated with its business. This has created a high demand for expertise and skills in user experience and product management,” said Chrys Sullivan, CEO of Useagility and co-founder of Pointworks Academy. “Unfortunately, there is a lack of effective training available for these jobs and we want to help fix that.”
Sullivan and her business partner, Yana Beranek, have more than 30 years of combined experience in the field of user experience and digital product management. Started in 2008, Useagility has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in Kansas City and one of the best small businesses in 2015.
“Our experience working with established companies and start-ups around the Midwest really opened our eyes to a need for more proactive education and training opportunities in UX,” said Beranek. “We are excited to bring a progressive solution to Kansas City to create and develop local talent for successful, in-demand careers.”
Pointworks will offer immersive certification courses at its academy located at 4149 Pennsylvania Ave. in Kansas City, Mo. The classes will use hands-on curriculum to teach the specific skills necessary for user experience and digital product management jobs. Graduates will walk away with portfolio-worthy completed work, practical templates and guides, interpersonal technology skills, and personal introductions to companies hiring for those positions.
Pointworks will also offer personalized, on-site training for corporations wishing to enhance their teams’ skills with practical, actionable UX and digital product management best practices.
The academy will be hosting introductory workshops starting in August. For more information or to register now, visit pointworksacademy.com.
