IDC Mourns with Family and Friends of Victims of Lebanon Terrorist Attack
(PRWEB) June 28, 2016 -- In Defense of Christians President Toufic Baaklini made the following statement:
"In Defense of Christians (IDC) condemns in the strongest terms possible the suicide bomb attacks carried out over the period of the past forty-eight hours on the predominantly Lebanese Christian town of Al Qaa in the Hermel District near the Syrian frontier.
The nine bombings on Monday, eight of which were suicide attackers killing 5 and wounding many more, followed by the four suicide bombers who struck on Monday night as mourners gathered at the Mar Elias Church injuring another 7 residents were clearly putting Christians in their cross hairs. Economy Minister Alain Hakim, quoted in Lebanon Now stated that the attackers were attempting to “pass a message” to Lebanon by targeting the tiny village of al-Qaa.
"While extending condolences to the fallen, Faysal Aad, Joseph Labbous, Majed Wehbe, Boulos Ahmar and George Fares, IDC stands foursquare with the residents of al-Qaa in sending a message of their own, “Christians are staying in their land until the end of ages.”
"IDC also calls upon all nations that value coexistence, tolerance and recognition of international law to bring a speedy end to the Syrian conflict that has now spilled over into Lebanon, which stands as witness to the region that coexistence, tolerance and the rule of law is far superior to the descent into tribal warfare which now threatens it."
