“Iron Pathways to Adventure” Part I Wins Telly Awards Taiwan’s Scenic Beauty Recognized By International Awards Yet Again
(PRWEB) June 28, 2016 -- Exciting News announced earlier in June! The joint production titled “Joseph Rosendo's Travelscope Iron Pathway” Part 1 by Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) won a bronze Telly Award, the Oscars of television. The program is being recognized among over 13 thousand competing shows all over the world. This is also the latest winning of Taiwan themed travel show hosted by Joseph Rosendo since the “Taiwan Lantern Festival,” which received both of the Telly and Emmy Awards in 2014. With an informative approach, the “Iron Pathways to Adventure” guides viewers through a journey of Taiwan's railway culture. In the award winning program, Rosendo embarked from Taipei, introduced Taiwan’s round-the-island railway system, explained different types of railways, and highlighted one of the most popular routes -- the Alishan Forest Railway. He connects Alishan Forest Railway's surrounding attractions, including the Checheng Station of JiJi railway in Nantou - the most stunning station in Taiwan, the early morning train ride to catch the Alishan sunrise that no travelers would want to miss, and to visit the indigenous Tsou people of Nantou county and experience the welcoming tribal hospitality. Rosendo also explored the old streets of Fenqihu, and enjoyed the famous railway bento box as well as local handcrafted Aiyu jelly.
Taiwan’s breathtaking scenery received international recognition once again, and it has garnered even more interest in the popular touring option of “Taiwan by Train + Bike”. “This year's railway travel received the honor of the Telly Awards; through the premium outlets where the program is broadcasted, it greatly boosted the exposure of Taiwan's extremely convenient public transportation among the audience. With the concern of global warming, going green, and sustainable tourism are under the spotlights of tourism development which Taiwan has an ideal environment along with established infrastructure for cycling activities. Besides the round-island Cycling Route No. 1, there are 12 other local routes for everyone to enjoy the fun of bike riding. Bike service stations along the route provide drinking water, rest stops, quick repair, and i-taiwan free Wi-Fi access. Train + Bike Route Tours can be customized based on your fitness level, and this combination tour is suitable for any season during the year, making Taiwan tourism that much more fascinating. We welcome you to travel "Taiwan by Train + bike,” said Mr. Brad Shih, Director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau Los Angeles Office. Encouraged by the government, train + bike round-island riding has become the trendiest green tourism in Taiwan in recent years. Travelers can utilize the railway to enjoy the natural beauty along the track, switch over to biking and further explore the villages and experience local culture and cuisine. In this generation where travelers can conveniently ride the MRT with their bikes, round-island travel in Taiwan by train + bike no longer requires much effort. The Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way in Taichung and the Old Caoling Trail Circle-Line Bikeway in Northeast Taiwan that are both transformed from abandoned railways, are also not to be missed by railway lovers to bike through. For bike travel enthusiasts, the month-long Taiwan Cycling Festival will begin in October 2016. The Bike Day at Sun Moon Lake on November 13th is the best opportunity to cycle around the lake which is touted as one of the most beautiful trails in the world.
The Tourism Bureau will continue to collaborate with the PBS Travelscope production team this summer in Penghu, to capture the marine ecology of the outlying islands, the culture of fishing villages, the Penghu Fireworks Festival, the world-renowned Double-Heart of Stacked Stones, and the magnificent basalt landscape. The new show is scheduled to air on PBS for Season 9 of Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope.
