NACD's Atlanta Chapter Takes Its Commitment to Strong Board Leadership to the Next Level- Strong Leadership Is Becoming a Critical Element of Success in the Boardroom
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 07, 2016 -- In a complex business environment where shareholders, regulators, and stakeholders are holding directors to an increasingly higher standard, strong leadership is becoming a critical element of success in the boardroom. The National Association of Corporate Directors’ (NACD) Atlanta Chapter, demonstrating its commitment to strong board leadership in Atlanta’s director community, has expanded its board, adding six new directors.
When directors have the knowledge they need to shape sound strategic decisions, boards exceed the expectations of their stakeholders. This is why the newly expanded NACD Atlanta Chapter board is taking on the serious work of creating highly relevant director programming that provides key insights on emerging issues including cybersecurity, executive compensation, risk oversight, and shareholder activism.
A strong focus on the multifaceted governance issues of today will ensure that Atlanta’s director community has access to the best thought leadership and practices from around the country, as well as direct access to leading subject-matter experts in governance, compensation, audit, and the law. As an advocate for the profession of directorship, NACD’s Atlanta Chapter looks forward to this fall, when it will showcase the value that our new directors will bring to Atlanta’s director community through world-class events and peer-to-peer exchanges that help directors lead with confidence in the boardroom.
