Homeowners are eligible for a $500 instant rebate on any geothermal heat pump or air to water heat pump purchase.

Maritime Geothermal Ltd, makers of Nordic Heat Pumps, announces a summer savings event in to help more families combat rising utility bills. Through July 31st, homeowners can receive an instant rebate of $500 with the purchase a residential heat pump through a qualified heat pump installer.

As families increasingly turn to green remodeling to decrease utility bills and dependence on fossil fuels, the green building industry has undergone a dramatic shift. It has grown from a $6-billion industry in 2005 to a $17-billion industry in 2011; grabbing 17 percent of overall construction market share.

While there are many low cost ways for homeowners to decrease utility bills such as adding insulation and switching to high efficiency appliances, no single renovation will save more money than upgrading heating and cooling systems, which account for 48% of energy use in a typical United States household.

Unfortunately, upgrading a home’s heating and cooling system is also one of the most expensive green building upgrades, which is why Nordic heat pumps is offering the $500 rebate, to help defray the upfront cost.

“By taking advantage of the Summer Savings Event you have the opportunity to upgrade your heating and cooling system to a geothermal heat pump or air source heat pump at a lower than normal cost,” says company President Glenn Kaye.

“With the generous rebates on heat pumps offered by provincial, state and federal governments combined with this event, an energy efficient Nordic heat pump is one of the most cost-effective ways to achieve savings, comfort, and efficiency in your home today.”
