IMCA Promotes Tim Whiting to Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director of Sales
Denver, CO (PRWEB) July 06, 2016 -- Investment Management Consultants Association® (IMCA®) announced today that Tim Whiting has been promoted to chief marketing officer and managing director of sales. In this role, he will oversee marketing and membership, corporate communications, national sales, and IMCA’s publications. Whiting’s role—a new position at IMCA—is designed to replace many of the responsibilities previously charged to chief operating officer Ian MacKenzie, who retired from IMCA on June 1, 2016. Whiting will be responsible for strategically allocating resources across product lines to achieve consistent revenue growth.
“Tim Whiting is intimately familiar with our existing and emerging product lines, has a proven track record of integrating sales and marketing to deliver results, and has expert understanding of today’s digital media landscape,” said Sean R. Walters, CAE, IMCA’s executive director and CEO. “I’m excited to welcome Tim to this new position; we look forward to his leadership as IMCA continues to grow strategically and serve members worldwide.”
“IMCA is a phenomenal organization, and I look forward to contributing to this new chapter in our continued growth,” Whiting said. “IMCA’s products and services are uniquely positioned to qualify and educate today’s advanced investment and wealth professionals and I believe we have the right pieces in place to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.”
Whiting joined IMCA in 2013 as national sales director, focused on building relationships with key accounts and managing all aspects of sales for IMCA sponsorships, exhibits, advertising, and group education programs. During his tenure, Whiting’s sales team grew IMCA’s sponsor and exhibit revenue from $2.2 million in 2013 to $2.6 million in 2015. Whiting secured several private classes for the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) certification program and was instrumental in growing applications for the CPWA program by 32 percent in 2015.
Before joining IMCA in 2013, Whiting worked as group publisher of SourceMedia in New York, where he oversaw all aspects of sales and marketing for SourceMedia’s Investment Advisor Group, including the flagship brand Financial Planning. He has more than 20 years of financial services industry experience and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Richmond. Whiting will be based in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and travel frequently to IMCA’s headquarters in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
