Multi-Phase Agreement Provides 1Gig, 10Gig and 100Gig services; Immediate Direct Connection to Ashburn

“AOC Connect is excited to see Yyotta’s IXP and datacenter investment in the Quantico Corporate Center and the value it provides to small and large bandwidth consumers and carriers in the market,” said Alfred Horton, Vice President AOC Connect.

Yyotta, LLC (“Yyotta”), pronounced ‘why yotta’, an emerging Internet exchange point (IXP), datacenter and cloud services company based in Stafford, VA today announced an agreement with AOC Connect, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Operations Corporation (AOC), where AOC will install, provision and manage high performance network and connectivity services from the Yyotta IXP. AOC will offer network transport, Ethernet and managed services from the IXP to Washington, DC, Ashburn, VA and other locations throughout the country.

The agreement is a multi-phase agreement whereby AOC will initially make available and provision 1Gig, 10Gig and 100Gig services between the Stafford and Equinix in Ashburn, VA followed by expanding local fiber connectivity solutions to existing and future customers of the Quantico market. The initial installation at the site will bring 400Gig capacity, which will be saleable in the future to over 1Terabyte of capacity. Today, AOC provides network services to customers on and off USMC Base Quantico, throughout the Washington DC metro and across the country.

“AOC Connect is excited to see Yyotta’s IXP and datacenter investment in the Quantico Corporate Center and the value it provides to small and large bandwidth consumers and carriers in the market,” said Alfred Horton, Vice President AOC Connect. “The creation of Yyotta’s IXP and datacenter solves a vexing problem of the lack of Internet access options, choice and innovation. The combination of the IXP and our proven experience is a perfect match to address these problems with secure, high quality networking solutions.”

“The addition of AOC solutions available from the IXP is a critical success factor for the region ushering in a new era of connectivity and computing for the Quantico region increasing carrier connectivity, choice and innovation,” said Don Goodwin, Chief Marketing Officer with Yyotta. “We are excited AOC is joining us as a key partner responding to the connectivity and computing needs of the region.”

Yyotta’s IXP and datacenter consists of two (2) secure data center computer rooms encompassing 2,480 sq. ft. of computer room floor and 500 kW of UPS power capacity. The first computer room is available today. The IXP is the only multi-tenant datacenter in Stafford, offering a highly compliant solution through a concurrently maintainable design. Yyotta’s Quantico Corporate Center customers have the option to choose from a 1Gig, 10Gig, or dark fiber connectivity solutions, delivered over private, low-latency networks to Washington, DC, Ashburn, Middletown and Richmond, VA.
