New Event Series Targets Denver’s Growing Millennial Population

Millennial Week designed uniquely for millennials comes to the Mile High City Aug. 17 -19

“Population reports confirm Denver's job growth and urban charm have young professionals flocking to take part in the city's vibrant lifestyle,” said Moss. "We wanted to reach these residents by bringing the popular DC based Millennial events to Denver.

Millennial Week, an innovative event series for young professionals founded in the nation’s capital, will come to Denver August 17-19, 2016. As one of the most popular cities for millennials, Denver will host Millennial Week events designed to explore and celebrate millennials’ impact on business, culture and society.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, millennials have surpassed Baby Boomers as the nation's largest living generation. As such, their importance and influence is on the rise as they continue to become breadwinners, leaders and rising stars of the nation’s economy.

“We are a diverse group of driven, tech-savvy, community-minded Americans that are making big waves in society by swaying elections, disrupting industries and reshaping America’s cities,” said Natalie M. Moss, director & founder, Millennial Week. “Millennial Week events focus on the impact of millennials on culture, enterprise and society; the events cultivate, promote and share the most meaningful ideas and trends from this community of 18 to 35 year olds.”

This event series is created by millennials, for a millennial audience and is uniquely designed to engage and inspire. The content will focus primarily on millennials involved in entrepreneurship, civic engagement and social innovation. Attendees will gain a wealth of information and connections by attending the Millennial Townhall, the Startup Lounge or by being nominated for an 80/95 Award.

80/90 Awards – Presented by the Denver Post, the 80/95 Awards will kick off the event series at 6 p.m., Wednesday, August 17 inside the Denver Post building. The networking reception will highlight the positive impact created by the generation. Award categories will focus on entrepreneurship, civic engagement and lifestyle & culture. Additional awards will recognize companies committed to helping millennials foster change in these areas.

Millennial TownHall – Millennial thought leaders and innovators will discuss the challenges facing this generation, and how millennials are shaping major brands from the inside out. Attendees interested in building a brand or promoting a cause will gain information and resources to aid their goals for change through social innovation and enterprise. The Millennial Townhall, sponsored by Prudential, will be held on Thursday, August 18, 6 p.m., at the Denver Post.

Startup Lounge – Sponsored by Wells Fargo, the Startup Lounge will provide an environment for both budding and established millennial entrepreneurs to strategize, network and pitch new ideas. Attendees will gain access to speak with financial advisors and experts one-on-one for advice on concept & business development, banking & funding as well as marketing & advertising. The Startup Lounge will be held on Friday, August 19, 6 p.m., at the Wells Fargo Center on 1700 Lincoln St.

The Denver event series expands upon the success of Millennial Week DC, created in 2013 to begin a genuine dialogue about what inspires, shapes and drives the city’s millennial population. The event series celebrates the contribution and influence of millennials in entrepreneurship, politics, philanthropy, society and culture. The third annual Millennial Week DC will be held October 9-15, 2016.
