FlightStats Expands Trip Analytics with New Reporting Solution
Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 14, 2016 -- FlightStats, Inc., a leader in global flight data and information services, is expanding its Trip Analytics portfolio as part of a continuous effort to deliver best-of-breed solutions that benefit its customers.
Trip Analytics is a suite of reporting solutions that enable customers to better understand disruptions and how they impacted their travelers before, during and after a trip. The FlightStats team creates these solutions by integrating flight data with trip data and other trip-related data sets. The data in these solutions produces new insights and answers questions that can assist customers in determining ahead of time the operational and support needs of their travelers. Those answers are delivered to customers in near real-time.
The solutions within Trip Analytics will allow customers to:
- Prove the value of their services to corporations
- Demonstrate how they could have helped travelers during times of disruption
- Increase traveler loyalty by knowing what could happen
- Identify problems sooner and react accordingly
- Reduce operational costs by proactively identifying staffing needs
FlightStats Trip Analytics has two solutions that are available right now for new and existing customers: Trip Assist Reports and Trip Outcome Reports. Both solutions contain valuable information on how travelers were impacted when a travel disruption occurred so that decision makers can make informed, data-driven improvements to their corporate travel programs.
Since March 2016, Trip Assist Reports has been available to customers using Trip Assist, a workflow management tool that is used to manage disruptions. FlightStats' customers use the reports to gain visibility into the value of their services during times of disruption.
“We are continuing to improve our Trip Analytics,” said Robyn Grassanovits, Chief Product Officer at FlightStats. “With the introduction of Trip Outcome Reports, we are taking our analytics a step further by allowing customers to see all the disruptions that impacted their travelers during a trip, regardless of whether someone intervened on the traveler’s behalf or not.”
Trip Outcome Reports provides customers with an overview of the total trips FlightStats monitored within a given time frame and how many of those trips experienced a disruption. With that information, customers will be able to gain further insight into:
- What happened. A breakdown by type of disruption, including cancellations, misconnections, diversions, late arrivals and late departures.
- Who was impacted. Specific travelers, groups of travelers or all travelers from a specific corporation that were affected by the disruption.
- Where the disruption occurred. The departure and arrival airports with top disruptions viewed in a single display.
- When the disruption happened. A breakdown by hour of day and day of the week.
- Which airlines were involved. The carrier breakdown causing the disruption.
“We wanted to produce something that would help our customers get a true understanding of how disruptions affected their travelers, their business and their travel program,” said Grassanovits. “As we evolve our Trip Analytics offerings by adding more data sets to the mix, we believe we can help our customers achieve several very important financial and customer service goals. Having more knowledge and visibility is invaluable.”
