New survey reveals who spends the most on holidays - and who plans to save the most this year by staying in the UK

A survey by travel experts http://www.StayInDevon.co.uk and http://www.StayInCornwall.co.uk has revealed the biggest spenders and savers on holidays in the UK.

East Anglians and South West residents splash the most cash on holidays, spending an average of £1,200 and £1,055 respectively. According to the survey of over 1,000 families, the five highest spending areas on holidays are:
1.     East Anglia - £1200
2.     South West - £1055
3.     North West - £946
4.     Wales - £889
5.     East Midlands - £886

If you like walking, the Tarka Trail is on the doorstep. The Tarka Trail (named after the trail taken by a fictional Otter, named Tarka, in the book ‘Tarka the Otter’, which was written and published in 1927 by nature author, Henry Williamson), is a 180 mile foot and cycle path which carves a figure-of-eight route through the Devon countryside.
