Pursuant Announces New Deeply Experienced Direct Response Executive

Gary Kline, direct response expert, joins Pursuant as senior vice president of direct response.

Pursuant, a full-service fundraising agency serving nonprofit organizations, bolstered its fundraising leadership through the hire of Gary Kline as senior vice president - direct response. Kline’s extensive experience has spanned over 25 years as a consultant and executive for top agencies serving the nonprofit market.

At Pursuant, Kline will work closely with account teams and collaborate with creative, production, and data analytics specialists to develop and deliver targeted and impactful direct mail strategies. His deep experience will complement the comprehensive and integrated fundraising approach that Pursuant provides to its clients. He will also work in further development of Pursuant’s impactful Prospector Platform, a unique donor upgrade program that combines elements of analytics, direct mail, email, video, and micro web pages to target specific donors and move them toward greater philanthropic engagement.

Kline joins Pursuant directly after working as a consultant in the Washington D.C. metro area. Previously, he served as president of SCA Direct, a fundraising agency that was part of Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services before being merged with Russ Reid. While at SCA Direct, Kline served such clients as American Red Cross, Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Children’s Miracle Network, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, U.S. Olympic Committee, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

His deep experience with database marketing, direct response fundraising, and client service experience began at Epsilon in Boston where he served other prestigious nonprofit organizations including the American Library Association, Archdiocese of Boston, Covenant House, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
