GIACT co-founders and brother and sister, Merlin Bise and Melissa Brown, have both been named finalists in different categories for the 2016 Tech Titans Awards. Brown, GIACT CEO, was named a finalist in the Community Hero category, while Bise, GIACT CTO, was named a finalist in the Corporate CTO category.

Tech Titans, the largest technology trade organization in Texas, has named two executives from GIACT Systems, the payment risk management leader, as finalists in the 16th Annual Tech Titans Awards. Melissa Brown, co-founder and CEO, was named a finalist in the Community Hero category, while Merlin Bise, co-founder and CTO, was named a finalist in the Corporate CTO category. The Tech Titans awards recognize outstanding technology companies and individuals in the North Texas area who have made significant contributions to their industries during the past year.

GIACT also made Tech Titans' Top 25 Fast Tech list, which honors the fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North Texas. Finalists were named through independent research conducted by Crowe Horwath and Comerica via publicly available information. Growth was measured over a two-year period, 2013-2015, and companies must have had revenue between $2 million and $200 million to be eligible.

The Tech Titans Award winners will be revealed at the Tech Titans Awards Gala at the Hotel InterContinental in Dallas, Texas, on Friday, August 19. More information about the event is available at http://www.techtitans.org.

"Philanthropy and service are core values for me as well as GIACT, so it is a true honor to be named a finalist for the Community Hero award," said Brown. "To have GIACT's co-founder, and my brother, Merlin Bise also named a finalist makes it all the more special."

"There are many talented technology leaders in the D/FW area so I am honored to be named a finalist for the Tech Titans Corporate CTO award," Bise said. "GIACT is a wonderful, fast-growing organization and I look forward to sharing this recognition with our employees, who help make my job easier."

“The Tech Titans Awards are the premier recognition of innovative technology companies and individuals who contribute to the vibrancy and success of North Texas,” said Bill Sproull, president and CEO of Tech Titans. “These finalists are an elite group who make a difference building tomorrow's technology community with their innovation, leadership and advocacy. We look forward to highlighting the groundbreaking advancements that continue to impact North Texas and the world.”

Besides title sponsor AT&T, other supporters of the Tech Titans Awards Gala include Ericsson, Nokia, Fujitsu Network Communications, Huawei, Pearson Partners, VLSIP Technologies, Deloitte, ZRG Partners, Dassault Systems and the Dallas Business Journal.
