Dental Care International, Worldwide Non-Profit Organization, Treats Over 15,000 Patients
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 13, 2016 -- Dental Care International(DCI) can now proudly announce their numbers for the 2015 year; DCI received over 15,000 patient visits, making their total number of patients treated since their start in 2001 over 71,000. DCI is a non-profit organization that trains dental surgery assistants and provides vital comprehensive dental care to neglected areas of the world.
Dental Care International is actively engaged in Sri Lanka, Ecuador and the United States, providing essential dental services. In Sri Lanka, DCI operates a one year residential Dental Surgery Assistant Training Program near Kandy, Sri Lanka. Here, girls from children’s homes who have been neglected, abused or afflicted with poverty or tragedy, are able to receive training as dental assistants. After graduation, these students are then employed at hospitals and clinics across the country. DCI has been affecting change in Cuenca, Ecuador since 2009, bringing a team of volunteer dental professionals who offer dental services to school children. This charitable organization also helps those in need in the United States. Since 2005, the DCI Las Vegas, NV dental clinic has offered over $5,000,000 in high-quality, comprehensive dental treatment. The underserved or uninsured in southern Nevada in need of affordable dental services are invited to receive compassionate, experienced treatment.
During the 2015 year, DCI also successfully placed 6,658 sealants, filled 6,766 cavities and logged 1,568 volunteer hours. These accomplishments encourage the dental surgery assistants as well as volunteers to continue helping these communities achieve proper oral and overall health. DCI was founded in 2001 by Mike PeQueen and Dr. Dawn McClellan, a respected dentist in Las Vegas, NV, who have helped organize five international outreaches during 2015.
DCI is always looking for new volunteers to help provide the fundamental care patients need, and in doing so, spread more smiles. Anyone interested in volunteering for, or donating to Dental Care International are encouraged to visit http://www.dcare.org and help make a difference.
