This release of Genesis R&D Food Formulation and Labeling Software includes all of the FDA’s changes, both in layout and DV requirements.
Salem, OR (PRWEB) July 14, 2016
ESHA Research, the leading provider of nutrition analysis and compliant food labeling solutions today announced a vital software update for the Genesis R&D Food Formulation and Labeling Software. In response to the FDA’s regulatory changes for nutrition facts panels, Genesis R&D Version 11.1, now includes the new label formats and revised Daily Values.
Genesis R&D Version 11.1 includes new formatting for Standard, Tabular, Linear, Child, Pregnant and Lactating, Dual Column, Aggregate, Simplified, and Supplement Facts labels. In addition, many database foods have been populated with added sugar values and the Daily Values have been adjusted to reflect the new rules.
ESHA Research has been tracking the regulations since they were first proposed. “We know how important compliance is to our customers and this is a significant regulatory change,” stated Craig Bennett, CEO at ESHA. “We have examined the final regulations and have made very strategic decisions while incorporating these changes in Genesis to ensure compliance.”
Genesis allows users to easily convert the analysis and labeling for their food products and formulas into the new format, which puts more focus on Calories and makes Vitamin D, Potassium, and Added Sugars mandatory. Updates to the nutrition facts panels will be first available July 26, 2016, and required for most packaged foods by July 26, 2018.
“This release includes all of the FDA’s changes, both in layout and DV requirements,” said Josh Luth, Product Manager at ESHA. “Both the new and pre-existing labels will be available in the program for a period of three years as some companies have a longer window for compliance.”
