Whataburger announced today executive team member Joe Shannon has been promoted to a new leadership role within the company. Shannon will take on expanded duties and responsibilities as vice president, chief information officer for Whatabrands.
Shannon joined Whataburger in 2014 as the IT group director, CIO and spent the last two years developing and overseeing the implementation of the company’s technology roadmap. He is responsible for driving technology strategy and innovation, digital innovation and operation, including data management and analytics, as well as managing a technology team of more than 100 employees. The Texas Tech University graduate has over 26 years of experience in various technology management roles in Austin and San Antonio as well as experience as a network consultant during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
