Wavecrest Computing, a leading global provider of advanced Web-access security management and reporting solutions, today announced a new enhancement to its CyBlock Web Security Gateway solution, guest Wi-Fi network protection. Increasing management to guest devices connected to a business’s Wi-Fi network increases the overall security of the business.

Business today is conducted on many devices from many locations. The expectation of business guests, and even employees, is to have access to a public Wi-Fi connection within the business location. Now, businesses can offer this while protecting guest Wi-Fi users and company assets from situations such as compliance issues or legal liabilities.

CyBlock Web Security Gateway’s guest network offers an important captive portal feature which forces the user to at least look at, if not read, an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) page, and then click or tap a button indicating agreement to the terms of the policy. The captive portal also provides the ability to set day and time limits to the guest access, automatically expiring after a certain amount of time. IT administrators can track and report on guest account activity and have access to high-level usage and trend reports along with detailed reports to meet management requirements.
