London Bay Homes has broken ground on the newest neighborhood in Mediterra, Naples’ nine-time community of the year and No.1 best retirement community in Florida.

Caminetto will offer 15 single-family homesites with views of nature preserves and fountained lakes within Mediterra’s Garden Neighborhood.

Three brand-new, luxury model homes are planned, and construction is expected to begin on the Carmela and Sonoma model homes in July, according to Mark Wilson, CEO and president of the Naples-based custom homebuilder.

“Nature is the focus in Caminetto, with homesites that are peacefully integrated within the natural landscape and preserve,” Wilson said. “The neighborhood reflects London Bay’s commitment to environmental stewardship, and as a bonus for our residents, Caminetto is just a short walk to Mediterra’s picturesque Parterre Garden.”

London Bay is offering five floor plans ranging from 3,500 to 5,000 square feet and featuring luxury options for personal expression – the hallmarks of the company’s commitment to Private Label Living. Homebuyers also will choose from three architectural styles, including transitional interpretations of Mediterranean and coastal styles.

Caminetto will formally open for sales this October.

London Bay also is the exclusive builder in the Garden Neighborhood’s Lucarno and Cabreo enclaves, which are adjacent to the Parterre Garden, Mediterra’s largest neighborhood park with formal gardens, fountained lake views, sitting areas, and a large reflecting pond with decorative stone frog waterspouts.

A leader in the luxury home market for 25 years, London Bay Homes has been named America’s Best Builder by Builder magazine.

The company and its affiliates manage all new home sales and marketing for Mediterra, internationally lauded as one of the top private clubs in the world by BoardRoom magazine and currently ranked among the top 10 communities worldwide by BestRetirementDestinations.com.

The 1,700-acre community presents an array of lifestyle amenities, including The Club at Mediterra, featuring two world-class, Tom Fazio-designed golf courses and a private 10,000-square-foot beach club on the Gulf of Mexico, offering an elevated swimming pool, casual dining with a full bar, and valet service for beach chairs, umbrellas, and beverage and food menus.

Mediterra’s on-site amenities include themed neighborhood parks, eight miles of walking and jogging trails, and a fitness complex with tennis and bocce courts, a pool and spa services.

The 32,000-square-foot clubhouse features a main dining room, club lounge and kitchen, and alfresco dining options with an exposition kitchen and chef’s table. With its two-star Certified Green Restaurant, Mediterra is the nation’s first private residential community country club to earn the certification.

The club and its finishing hole bistro, Tavern on 18, offer relaxed and casual dining prepared by a staff of award-winning culinary experts. The outdoor Tavern features a fire pit and lounge area and serves gourmet brick-oven pizzas, seasonal salads and open-air grilled entrees.

The Club at Mediterra is halfway through a two-year, $6.1 million project to replace the irrigation system, bunkers, cart paths and turf on the South Course. A new irrigation system was recently completed on the North Course, and additional improvements to its driving range will be completed in fall 2016.

Mediterra’s Golf Learning Center offers indoor and outdoor driving stations, video equipment with launch monitor, a 2.5-acre short game practice complex with three greens, and a staff of certified PGA professionals. Membership opportunities at Mediterra are limited to just 225 members per 18 holes.

All of the community’s amenities are membership-owned.

Home designs in Mediterra – a 2013 Aurora Award winner for Best Residential Development in the Southeastern U.S. – include single-family estate homes and single-family maintenance-free villas priced from $1 million to more than $7 million. Seven model homes are currently open for viewing.
