Batch 206 Distillery to Release One of Their Oldest Casks of Old Log Cabin Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Seattle, Washington (PRWEB) July 20, 2016 -- Batch 206 Distillery is thrilled to announce the release of one of their oldest casks of Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Cask 67. Releasing on July 24th at 12pm, this Single Barrel release of Old Log Cabin will be limited to 260 bottles, and available only at Batch 206 Distillery on a first come, first serve basis. While Batch 206 Distillery’s original expression of Old Log Cabin Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 86 proof and a blend of 19 to 26 months old whiskies, this Single Barrel expression will be bottled at higher proof of 89 and aged 32 months.
Old Log Cabin Bourbon Whiskey recently received the coveted "Recommended" rating from Whisky Magazine, being awarded a Silver Medal. Old Log Cabin Bourbon shares this award with other venerated American bourbons like Pappy Van Winkle 20 Year, Eagle Rare 17 year, Elijah Craig 12 year, Blanton’s and George T. Stagg.
Whisky Magazine describes Old Log Cabin Bourbon Whiskey as "a walk through a forest after the first rains in Autumn" calling it "an interesting and complex Bourbon, which needs to be sipped and savoured". Chris Goodrum writes “notes of coffee and treacle and a touch of balancing sweetness and with time a hint of violet and subtle vanilla oak appears. Good, spicy finish with an almost chili pepper hotness and a fair amount of drying wood tannins.”
Batch 206 Master Distiller, Whitney Meriwether, commented "Old Log Cabin is different than any other whiskey on the market, and with that comes a certain amount of risk. Our mash bill and style bridges the Atlantic and encompasses the best of what bourbon and single malt whiskies have to offer. It's encouraging and humbling to see such an enthusiastic response from drinkers on both sides of the pond." Old Log Cabin Bourbon Whiskey is made using a totally unique mash bill of 51% percent Washington corn and a whopping 49% Washington malted barley!
While the Cask 67 Single Barrel will only be available at Batch 206 Distillery, Old Log Cabin Bourbon Whiskey is available statewide in Washington and also available in Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
