Porter, Jr. and Paul J. Cambridge. Both are St. Louis-based members of the firm’s Corporate Services and Financial and Real Estate Services practice groups.
Joseph T. Porter, Jr.
With more than 30 years of experience, Porter provides counsel to a variety of corporations on transactional matters including mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, financing arrangements and strategic planning. His practice focuses on financial institutions and the special regulatory issues involved in the operation of state and federal banks, and savings and loan associations. Porter provides assistance to clients with acquisitions and divestitures, corporate restructurings, regulatory compliance issues, introduction of new product lines, and expansion into other geographic areas through branching and acquisition.
Prior to joining the firm, he was a shareholder at another St. Louis area firm where he chaired the Banking practice group and served as vice chair of the Corporate and Transactional practice group. Porter earned his J.D., cum laude, from Saint Louis University School of Law and his B.S., cum laude, from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He is admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois. He is a member of The Missouri Bar, Illinois State Bar Association and American Bar Association. Porter is also active in the banking industry as a member of the American Bankers Association, Community Bankers Association of Illinois, Missouri Independent Bankers Association, Missouri Bankers Association, Illinois Bankers Association and Independent Community Bankers of America.
Paul J. Cambridge
Cambridge provides legal services to clients of all sizes and structures – from entrepreneurial startups to large, publicly held companies. He counsels clients in all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate matters and lending transactions, and also has significant experience handling matters related to entity formation and planning, corporate governance, contract negotiation, strategic planning, debt and equity financing, securities law, banking regulations, joint ventures, and other business law matters. While heavily focused on the banking industry, he counsels clients within a broad range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, real estate, life sciences, construction, education, and health care.
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Paul was a shareholder at another St. Louis law firm where he focused on business and financial services. Paul earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan and his B.S., with honors, from Michigan State University. He is admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois. He is a member of The Missouri Bar, Illinois State Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and American Bar Association.
