vThreat Analytics combines passive vulnerability discovery and attack simulations

vThreat Inc., a cloud-based cybersecurity company that allows organizations to verify their cybersecurity readiness and defenses, today announced the launch of vThreat Analytics. This new release expands upon vThreat’s attack simulation platform by offering enterprises a powerful, yet simple to use security analytics capability to identify the most vulnerable and likely to be compromised assets on their network.

vThreat is well known for bringing cloud-based cyber attack simulations to the market. The new vThreat Analytics offering allows customers to couple passive vulnerability discovery with attack simulations. This approach allows companies to quantify their vulnerabilities with potential data loss in real time. The vulnerabilities that vThreat finds are the most likely to be exploited.

An organization typically has to wait a week or even up to a month for vulnerability information from vulnerability scans. vThreat Analytics gives customers real-time vulnerability data which is actionable and can be used to mitigate risk immediately. The vulnerability discovery and attack simulation coupling also tests an organization's efficacy of their cybersecurity controls.

With vThreat Analytics, the company is now providing its users with the relevant information to mitigate against drive-by attack scenarios and identify the internal systems for remediation. All of this is done without the need to install agents or additional hardware.

vThreat’s new approach allows an organization to turn any internal website into a security monitoring sensor. By simply embedding vThreat Analytics code on internal portals such as SharePoint, wikis, or blogs, the platform instantly begins to provide an organization with relevant, timely and actionable insight on their attack surface. It also shows real time data on how vulnerable the organization is to drive-by attacks.

Available immediately, vThreat Analytics offers:

  • Drive-by attack scenarios: vThreat provides organizations with the ability to proactively prepare for drive-by attack scenarios.
  • Continuous passive vulnerability discovery: vThreat identifies vulnerabilities in operating systems, browsers, and browser plugins.
  • Attack simulation: Once vThreat identifies vulnerabilities, it can perform non-malicious, mock exploit attack simulations for security control testing purposes.
  • Security controls testing: vThreat can verify if current and future cyber security expenditures are working properly or as advertised.
  • Data breach simulation: vThreat simulates several data exfiltration techniques including credit cards, medical records, and other PII.
  • Reporting: vThreat offers valuable reports and trend analysis to prove that a company’s cybersecurity posture is improving over time.

“vThreat Analytics allows organizations to improve their cyber hygiene over time. With newly added threat analytics capabilities, we’re now able to provide our customers with trending data on security vulnerabilities, giving them a real-time view into their threat landscape,” said Marcus J. Carey, Founder and CTO of vThreat. “In addition, vThreat provides IT security pros with a way to better manage, orchestrate and administer enterprise-wide cybersecurity operations. With our enhanced offering, organizations will be able to readily report on the steps they’ve taken to prove they’ve been diligent and vigilant in protecting their network.”

“Organizations globally are spending millions of dollars on cybersecurity solutions that simply don’t work,” said Eric P. Whittleton, CEO of vThreat. “Most organizations don’t have a way to validate if their expenditures are working or not, until they’ve been breached and the writing is on the wall. vThreat provides a unique platform that can help enterprises demonstrate enterprise-wide security by capturing the performance of security controls using real-world attack simulations.”
